Dear neighbor,
I am proud to announce my campaign for re-election to the MN State House in District 62B, and I humbly ask for your support for DFL endorsement at precinct caucuses on February 3, 2026.
We are truly at a crossroads in our state and our nation. The murder of Renee Good in the heart of our district and the federal attacks upon our immigrant neighbors poses the most critical moment in Minneapolis since the murder of George Floyd. But what I am seeing in 62B is giving me strength: residents looking out for one another, standing up as one to call out injustice, and building grass-roots power in the face of adversity.
We know our diverse communities will continue to hold the line. We have a deep memory of resistance here — and we are not bending.
As a girl growing up in East Phillips, I knew what it was like to feel hunger, or not know how long a housing situation might last. I saw how hard my mother fought to build a life for me and my siblings, and how hard it was for my neighbors just to get by. I didn’t want this for my community, so I committed to advocate for the most vulnerable among us — and ran for office.
As your State Representative in 62B, I have fought to remove barriers to quality health care in underserved communities, grow affordable housing access, and I have stood on the front line with our immigrant, working class, unsheltered, and environmental justice communities. While we have made progress, we know the work is ongoing. This exercise in democracy is more crucial now than ever while attacks from the federal government are unceasing — and continue to surge.
I know we will find the strength to not only defend our communities on our doorstep, but on the steps of the capitol, fighting for legislation that will establish the policies and systems we want to see in Minnesota that lift up with our immigrant neighbors, workers, and children. I am going to need your support to continue this critical advocacy.
Please join me in bringing our voices to the MN State Capitol, to make sure we can withstand the headwinds we are up against. I am confident that with your support — we will not bend.
In partnership,
State Representative Anquam Mahamoud
